FULL PROFESSOR POSITION IN GEOmorphologY
The Faculty of
Geosciences and Environment at the University of Lausanne invites applications
for a full professor position in geomorphology. The search is for a candidate
in the general area of earth surface processes. A specific focus on fluvial
geomorphology would be an asset. The successful candidate is expected to be
complementary to the existing center of competence in mountain geomorphology at
the Institute of Geography.
Responsibilities
include teaching on the bachelor, master and PhD levels, as well as building up
and leading a vigorous, internationally recognized research program, which is
capable of attracting external funding.
Appointment is on
the full professor level, but it is possible, in an exceptional case, on a
tenure-track position, leading to a full professor status within 5-6 years. The University of Lausanne is an equal
opportunity employer. Applications from women are particularly encouraged.
Application deadline: March 26, 2010
Starting date: February 1, 2011 (or alternative agreed upon date)
Applications are to
be submitted both by e-mail and by paper copy to the Dean of the Faculty of
Geosciences and Environment. The
application material should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a
publication list, and a statement of research and teaching goals and interest
(not exceeding 3 pages). It should also include reprints of the five most
significant publications, and names and contact information of five references.
