Lexogen is a biotechnology start-up based in Vienna, Austria, focusing on the development of innovative tools for transcriptome research. Our proprietary highly automatable gene expression analysis platform can detect known and unknown sequences equally well. We are operating a state-of-the-art R&D facility and are determined to successfully launch our first products to a growing market.
Position
We are looking for an innovative Bioinformatician to join our team who wants to play an active role in the conception and development of novel products for the transcriptomics market. This position is available from January 2010. Responsibilities Analyse Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data Set up tools for (de novo) assembly of genomes and transcriptomes Statistical analysis of experimental data Program databases and write queries Simulate genomes, transcriptomes with proprietary software, program modules for proprietary software
Requirements Degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or mathematics Minimum of two years experience in the field of genomics or transcriptomics is essential Experience in handling NGS data is advantageous Knowledge of contemporary programming languages (e.g. C/C#, Perl, Java) Analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast paced start-up environment Excellent command of the English language
