Within the IOF consortium Enviromics Basic and applied research in environmental toxicology, water treatment technology and risk assessment
Tasks As research valorisation coordinator of the Enviromics consortium you will have the following responsibilities: 1. From a research management perspective, consolidate and further develop the existing activities of the research consortium in terms of expertise, facilities and personnel with the aim to: stimulate collaboration with industrial partners - development of knowledge and technologies of potential interest to industry
management of new and ongoing applied research projects 2. In collaboration with industry, explore new research topics with potential for future industrial valorisation Based upon the expertise of the research consortium stimulate (interdisciplinary) collaboration with other faculties/departments/research groups of the university, as well as with the university colleges belonging to the association (AUHA), and develop and maintain national and international networks.In summary, your efforts should be focused on industrial valorisation of innovative research results and technologies obtained within the consortium aiming to contribute to the IOF-parameters of the University of Antwerp. Profile You are holder of a doctoral degree in the domain of the research consortium and relevant expertise related to this includes: - Biological and chemical aspects of environmental pollution and related problems - Environmental technology for the treatment and characterisation of waste streams - In situ, in vivo and in vitro toxicity assays - Risk assessment and environmental quality criteria You have a strong interest in environmental sciences and its applications, combined with good management, administrative and communication skills. Relevant work experience in both academic and industrial research environments is a strong asset. Experience in obtaining external research funding from the private and public sector in the domain of basic and applied research on the national as well as international level is desirable. Knowledge of technology transfer processes needed to valorise academic research results as well as experience in managing a broad project portfolio is an advantage. Experience with EC projects and different aspects of intellectual property rights are a bonus. We offer - A permanent (undefinite time) contract as IOF consortium coordinator (salary according to professional and academic qualifications and equivalent to these of other academic staff categories).
