Post-doctoral fellowship.Tisssue-Specific Regulation of Gene Expression.Human Molecular Genetics Program, Childrens Memorial Research Center (CMRC) & Department of Pediatrics, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL.
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position to investigate the chromatin structure and tissue-specific regulation of expression of the CFTR gene, which when mutated causes Cystic Fibrosis. This NHLBI-funded project will build on our recent work on the CFTR active chromatin hub (Blackledge et al. 2009 Nucleic Acids Research 37(4):1086-94); (Ott et al. 2009. J. Cell. Mol.Med. 13(4):680-92; Ott et al. PNAS, In Press.) Successful applicants will have strong motivation, excellent graduate training and a good publication record.
Expertise in methods to study chromatin structure and modification, and/or transcription factors, though the analysis of DNA:protein interactions is necessary. Familiarity with bioinformatic tools is an advantage. We are part of a vibrant and interactive academic community and occupy excellent, well-equipped new laboratory space.
